Bio:
Aesthetic Apparatus

Aesthetic Apparatus took seed when Dan Ibarra & Michael Byzewski first met in 1998 as designers at another agency. Combining their mutual interest in printmaking and music, the two began to build a groundwork of limited edition hand-printed concert posters that would gain them enough recognition nationally and internationally to convince them to start their own studio.

Since 1999 Aesthetic Apparatus has been having fun skirting the boundaries between art and design and working hard every day to make work we are proud of with clients they are honored to call friends, ranging from tiny local start-ups to international advertising agencies and found something rewarding from each.

While poster design is what first brought Aesthetic Apparatus to the attention of the design world the studio is now equally known for their full spectrum of design work with clients such as DC Shoes, Penguin Books, Esquire Magazine, Macy’s, 4AD Records, Bacardi and Guardian UK. Their work has been featured in Print, Step Into Design, Communication Arts, Creative Review, HOW, Print, Rolling Stone, Swindle, Readymade Magazine along with heavy handfuls of design book publications.
